Long passenger queues at Paris airports caused by computer glitch

Paris airports faced long queues and delays on Saturday due to a computer malfunction that impacted border controls at Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports.

Paris Airports tweeted that the problem affected “checkpoints at the departure and arrival of Paris-CDG and Paris-Orly”, warning that longer waiting times should be anticipated.

Social media posts showed long queues of passengers with some waiting for up to two hours.

The computer system was restored by 2 pm and border police manually carried out passport checks to alleviate the backlog.

A Paris Airports spokesman said that “everything is being done to make the situation as easy as possible for travelers”.
