Will there be a season 5 of The Flash

Great news for fans – The Flash was renewed for a fifth season back in April.

The CW announced that the DC Comics series would be back on the autumn schedule along with Arrow, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow among others.

Network president Mark Pedowitz said in a statement: “We are proud to have such a deep bench of great returning series for 2018-19.

“By picking these 10 series up for next season, we have a terrific selection of programming to choose from when we set our fall schedule in May, with more still to come.”

The Flash season 5 release date

Though the official release date has not been confirmed, season five will be back in autumn this year.

All previous seasons have had an October release, so season five is likely to follow suit.

As always, the upcoming run will more than likely consist of 23 episodes.

The series always begins in October and ends in May with a midseason break around February.

Who is in the cast of The Flash season 5?

The majority of the core cast members are expected to return to Central City for season five.

It wouldn’t be The Flash without the superhero himself, so Grant Gustin will be back as Barry Allen.

Candice Patton will be reprising her role as Iris West and Tom Cavanagh will be back as Harry Wells.

Other members of Team Flash expected to return include Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon and Jesse L Martin as Joe West.

Fans may see the last of supervillain DeVoe in the season’s finale, so it is not yet known if Neil Sandilands will be back for season five.
