Washington State University Welcomes Blooming Corpse Flower

Washington State University is providing a live-streaming opportunity for those interested in witnessing the blooming of its famous corpse flower, also known as titan arum. The plant, named Titan VanCoug, was planted on the university’s Vancouver campus in 2002 and first bloomed in July 2019.

Known for its foul odor resembling rotting flesh, the corpse flower recently bloomed again in 2022, with its distinct smell starting to permeate the area. The university welcomes the public to visit Titan VanCoug at the Science and Engineering Building on campus. However, for those who cannot make the trip or prefer to avoid the unpleasant scent, the university is offering a live stream of the blooming event.
