Salah signs new long-term Liverpool deal

Mohamed Salah has signed a new Long-term deal with Liverpool, the club has announced. Salah 26 enjoyed a sensational debut season with the Merseyside club scoring 32 goals in 36 Premier League appearances earning him the Golden Boot and also winning the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award, which was voted by his fellow professionals.

The Egyptian international was central to Liverpool’s run all the way to the Champions League final, and the deal is expected to significantly increase his wages in the club to put him in line with some of the top-earning stars in the Premier League.

Liverpool has not divulged the financial details of the new contract extension, it is thought that the deal does not include a release clause. This will be seen as a positive for the Liverpool if rival clubs such as Real Madrid, who had been heavily linked with the player last season come calling for his services.

After a disappointing World Cup campaign with Egypt, Salah will rest before beginning pre-season training with Liverpool. The Reds, who finished in fourth place in the Premier League, take on West Ham in their opening game of the season on the 11th of August.
