Pennsylvania State trooper killed, suspect found dead

A 32-year-old man who was the leading suspect in the shooting death of Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Landon Weaver has died, officials said.

Investigators did not release details surrounding the death of Jason Robison on Saturday, but said he was the main suspect in the shooting death of the trooper during a domestic-related incident about 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Investigators said Robison was “armed and dangerous” shortly after the shooting in Juniata Township, a small community in central Pennsylvania.

Gov. Tom Wolf ordered all commonwealth flags at public buildings and ground be lowered to half-staff until Tuesday.

“Trooper Weaver’s life and service to our commonwealth ended far too soon – may we never forget his sacrifice. Frances and I ask all Pennsylvanians to join us in keeping his wife, family, and fellow Troopers in our thoughts and prayers as they confront this horrific tragedy,” he said.

Weaver, 23, worked as a state trooper for about a year and was recently married.
