Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu meets his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that any peace talks regarding Ukraine should concentrate on establishing a “new world order” during his visit to Turkey on Friday.

Lavrov, who met with his Turkish equivalent Mevlut Cavusoglu, also warned that Russia would withdraw from a significant grain agreement brokered by Turkey if barriers to Russian exports persisted.

Moscow has threatened to abandon the agreement that has enabled the export of more than 25 million tons of grain, claiming that its side of the agreement, ensuring the right to export fertilizer free from Western sanctions, is not being respected.

Turkey is advocating for a 120-day extension in compliance with the original agreement negotiated by Ankara and the United Nations last July.
