Explosion in Lebanon kills at least 1, injures 7, officials say

BEIRUT — At least one person was killed and seven were injured in an explosion at a scout centre affiliated with the Shi’ite Amal Movement near Sidon in southern Lebanon, officials told Reuters early on Tuesday.

The building, which serves as both a center for the Islamic Risala Scout Association and a municipal hall, has been demolished by the blast that occurred shortly after midnight.

The causes of the explosion are yet to be determined.
