Eileen Saki

Actress Eileen Saki, best known for her role as Rosie in the iconic TV series “MASH,” has passed away at the age of 79 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

She played the character in eight episodes from 1976 to 1981.

Her representative, Camilla Fluxman Pines, confirmed the news and stated that Saki passed away on May 1st in Los Angeles.

Co-star Jeff Maxwell paid tribute to her on Facebook, thanking MASH fans for filling Saki’s final days with peace, encouragement, and love.

Saki also played the head madam of a brothel in an earlier episode of “MAS*H.”

Her other TV credits include “Good Times,” “Without A Trace,” “The Greatest American Hero,” and “Gimme a Break!,” and she appeared in movies such as “Meteor,” “History of the World: Part 1,” and “Splash.”

Saki’s performance in the role of Rosie was highly regarded, and she noted that the character was written so well that she didn’t have to work hard on it.

In a podcast interview last year, she shared that she based her portrayal of Rosie on a no-nonsense Korean laundromat owner.

Most recently, Saki appeared in a US Uber Eats commercial alongside Los Angeles Rams player Aaron Donald.
