Casualties in Somalia hotel siege: 6 killed, 10 wounded

In a devastating six-hour siege conducted by al-Shabaab militants at a beachside hotel in Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu, six civilians were tragically killed, and 10 others sustained injuries, according to the Somali Police Force. Additionally, three members of the security forces lost their lives in the attack. The police statement further mentioned that 84 individuals were successfully rescued from the hotel during the operation.

The siege, which commenced on Friday night, was finally brought to an end, as confirmed by the state news agency SONNA and state TV SNTV on Saturday. The security forces managed to “neutralize” the rebels responsible for the “desperate terrorist attack” on the Pearl Beach hotel in Mogadishu, as reported by SNTV. It was also revealed that the security forces conducted successful operations to rescue numerous civilians who were trapped inside the hotel, and they took decisive action by eliminating the attackers.
