Biden: Investigation into US document leak ‘getting close’

President Joe Biden has said the investigation into a leak of apparent military intelligence documents is “getting close” but downplayed the significance of the apparent breach.

The documents contain sensitive and highly classified material, and are believed to include classified US assessments of the war in Ukraine and intelligence on close US allies.

Although the source of the leak has not been confirmed, it is believed to have come from a man known as “OG” who worked on a military base.

While Biden is not concerned about the leak, he said a full-blown investigation by the Department of Defense and the Department of Justice is underway.
