BC SPCA Finds Cat in Box Shipped from China

A cat was found in a box shipped from China by border service agents in British Columbia, according to an animal welfare charity.

The Canada Border Service Agency officers noticed a hole in the package while examining it at the Vancouver International Mail Centre in Richmond.

After coaxing the feline out of the box, officials vaccinated, tested and gave fluids and medication to the cat before she was transported to a vet clinic.

The cat, named Precious Cargo, was given to a foster mom after a week at the clinic, and will be adopted once she is fully recovered.
