Cryptocurrency influencer and entrepreneur Fernando Pérez Algaba was tragically found dead and dismembered in Argentina. His remains were discovered in a suitcase by children playing near a stream in Buenos Aires. The 41-year-old, who amassed his wealth by renting luxury vehicles and selling digital coins, had gone missing on July 18.
Subsequently, his head was found floating downstream in a rucksack, further intensifying the investigation. The authorities identified Algaba through his tattoos and fingerprints. An autopsy revealed that he had been shot multiple times before his body was dismembered.
While police are actively investigating his death, one suspect has been taken into custody. Reports have emerged about Algaba’s financial struggles, including debts, tax issues, and investor demands related to a “failed” cryptocurrency business that had spiraled out of control.
Algaba’s lavish lifestyle and exotic travels were well-documented on his Instagram account, where he had amassed over 900,000 followers. However, he seemed to have been grappling with personal issues, including psychiatric treatment for an anxiety disorder.
In a cryptic social media post before his death, Algaba alluded to the presence of malevolent individuals who sought to harm him despite his intentions to help them. His brother, Rodolfo Pérez Algaba, revealed that they had been estranged for several months due to an argument.
Although the circumstances surrounding his death remain shrouded in mystery, Algaba’s family and friends are seeking justice for the tragic loss of the cryptocurrency entrepreneur.
